WALL-E

Caught it @ STAR CINEPLEX, KUCHING
Its 1 HOUR & 4o MINIUTES of robotics
You should catch it because IT’S CUTE, SENSITIVE, PRACTICAL & MAGICAL
You should not watch this movie if YOU PITY CUTE THINGS BEING TRASHED

WALL-E is such a fantastic movie. During the first half an hour, you’d be presented with a small cute robot called WALL-E which does not speak much, hence making you feel you are obviously watching a Charlie Chaplin movie in animation. In fact, I had a feeling that I didn’t get my money’s worth during the first few scenes of the movie as it was just about a stupid old, rusty robot which has a job to clean the earth. To sum my feeling up, the robot hardly speaks!!! I was almost sure that the movie would have bad reviews from me.

Nonetheless, everything changed when another robot called EVE landed. The story started to mushroom… and hard cold feelings within me started to melt. WALL-E grew into me, and before I knew it, I was touched with his persistence, and his need for company. In fact, his ability to show emotions through his little actions made him more adorable, and I figure, the whole “it’s just a lame story about a robot” sentiment flew away, with a great feel of satisfaction at the end of the movie. With that said, I’d like to point out that this is a movie, which no one should miss… and I’d say that this movie is by far, the best animated movie ever produced by man!! I tell you… Disney does have MAGIC, and WALL-E is one of them!!

Susuk

Where I watched it: Metrowealth Cineplex, Kuching
Duration: 1 Hour 55 mins
Description: Weird & Confusing
Should you watch this? : Skip this one. Save your money

I actually caught this movie because of how good of a ratings it had on one of the online movie sites gave. SUSUK is a Malaysian horror movie which revolves on voodoo, and spells to gain fame and glory. Nonetheless, despite having top actors like Ida Narina and Soffea Jane, i have to say that this is not a movie you should spend you money on. I doubt you'd end up understanding the plot, and despite the convincing acting shown, the plot of the movie is the main failure.

The main cause of disappointment towards to movie is the lack of explanation, and the huge derailment of the plot. I walked into the cineplex hoping for a lot of voodoo, and action.. but what I got was slow action, little voodoo... and a huge wondering on what actually happened in the movie. At the end of the day, I could figure out the movie, but still.... I felt there is so many untold tales, making this movie a NO-GO from my perspective.

The Mummy 3: Tomb Of The Dragon Emperor

Where I watched it: STAR Cineplex, Kuching
Duration: 1 Hour 53 mins
Description: Exciting
Should you watch this? : Yup..

Just like other Benden Frasier movies, this was full of witty jokes. I love the chemistry presented in the movie, and how they blended the infamous Terracotta Army with the modern world. Other than that, I don't know whether the history lessons presented in the movie is true, as I did not learn that much on Chinese history in school.

And yes, you should watch this movie. Of course, you must disregard the fact that the mummy (Jet Li) speaks English, and Zi Juan(Michelle Yeoh) and Lin(Isabella Leong) does the same too, despite being over 2000 years old, and not having any formal English education.

Like any adventure movie, you'd expect the heroes of the movie to be a huge winner, and its typically showed here. I guess, revealing too much would spoil the movie for those whom has not seen it, but I guess its suffice to say that this is a movie you ought to catch in the movies.

I'm Not Single

Where I watched it: Metrowealth Cineplex, Kuching
Duration: 1 Hour 27 mins
Description: So-so..
Should you watch this? : Maybe, If you are bored.

If you are into Malay romance movies, then this is one of the few you should get a look at. But, if you are not really into the usual over-reacting, predictable plot, and sometimes 'weird' jokes, you might want to give this movie a skip. And when I mean 'weird' movies, I do not mean those embarrassing Senario jokes which to me is lame and not even funny.

To be frank, the story is very very predictable and simple, and how it ends, makes it somewhat awkward as you do feel there would be suspense, but it was the normal lame ending. I did enjoy the jokes, and the romantic moments in the movie, but by international standards, this is quite far. One thing which really impressed me is the way they played the theme song "Dua Jiwa" by Dakmie into the scenes of the movie. If you have extra money in your pockets, you might want to give this movie a watch. Its not really worth it as you would expect it on free-TV next year, but then again.. its a decent movie to enjoy.
